Teen girls charged with killing pet birds, smearing bird blood everywhere after breaking into classmate's home.
Hallie Pate, 17, of Kinston, and Jordan Ruiz, 18, of Albertson, reportedly broke into the home of a girl they went to school with in Lenoir County on Feb. 4. Once inside, the teens allegedly killed the girl’s two parakeets before smearing the birds’ blood on the furniture, the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office said. The teenagers also allegedly stole some items from inside the home, including an Xbox One and inhalers. After finding a vehicle parked outside, they set the car on fire and left, officials said.

Many people said that if anyone did it it would be him. There was a Florida coach, Aaron Feis, who shielded students from bullets and took multiple hits. He later died.
Detroit brothers gunned down after ambush as they unloaded groceries at home
Detroit police were on the hunt for a pair of gunmen on Thursday after two brothers were shot and killed in an ambush attack that began when they were unloading groceries in their driveway. Police say the family members were emptying out their car around 12:30 a.m. at their home on Ashton Street when three armed men approached them and led them inside, where they blasted the two brothers, ages 54 and 47.
Grandmother thwarted Washington school shooting by looking at student's journal, cops say
A student in Washington state was arrested Tuesday after his grandmother called authorities to report "upcoming and credible threats" of a plot in his journal to attack a high school after flipping a coin, officials said. The Everett Police Department said in a news release the grandmother contacted authorities around 9:30 a.m. and showed police excerpts of the journal, which "detailed plans to shoot students and use homemade explosive devices at ACES High School."
